Challenged by his personal experience with his ageing mother affected with Alzheimer’s, our Founder and Managing Director, Andre Ferretto, sought a solution that would help and support his mother to age with dignity and live in the family home for as long as possible.
He experienced first-hand the stress and effort of caring for elderly persons particularly those with declining cognition. Andre found there was no technological solution that would allow his mother to stay in her family home for longer. Andre could see that the family could share the increasing care needs in a more effective and efficient way. So…he built the technology himself.
Andre set out to design user-centric technology to support the elderly, people with disabilities and health risks to live in their own home longer and to address contemporary aged care management challenges in residential aged care facilities. Building a talented team of software engineers with collaboration with a number of University research groups, clinicians and aged care experts. HalleyAssist® developed an integrated digital platform based on Artificial Intelligent (AI) designed specifically to support his vision of in-home support. It provides family peace of mind and gives people like his mother and families improved health emergency response while improving independence by allowing his mother to live in her own home for longer.
Our long term vision is to provide a user-friendly application ecosystem that addresses contemporary aged care management challenges and become a leader in the development of future home healthcare trends. We are committed to bringing a truly transformative technology to the healthcare and aged care markets with tangible customer benefits and outcomes.
We are enormously proud of the product’s performance in trials, especially the falls detection ability and the usability and user acceptance of the technology, regardless of cognitive ability.
